Tea Time

by Amanda

I just discovered this wonderful little tea shop here. Okay, I lie. I heard about it a couple of years ago, but I never got a chance to try it. Since last week was spring break and most people were away, it was just a great idea to finally try it out.

This is the cutest place ever and I so regret waiting (literally) years before I came here. I could have been here enjoying a nice cup of tea and snacks every month or so. :disappointed: They only offer tea service during the hours of 11:30AM-5PM, so I had a really tough time arranging my schedule so I could come here. The hours make sense, but sigh, having work and class during those times just makes things so much more difficult.

Matt and I dropped by on a Thursday afternoon. We usually sit indoors for everything but the atmosphere around this area was just perfect. How could we resist outside with great weather and all these cute plants & decor around us?

It was just a little awkward because well, we’re both awkward and we had to sit and wait while the waitress set up our table to look ready for our afternoon tea.

I ordered iced Long Island Strawberry, a green tea, and Matt ordered earl grey tea. Both some of the most delicious teas I’ve had! The teas came out first along with scones (which were delicious, by the way).

The rest of our order took a little while to come out, but that was okay since we got some time to sit, drink tea, and be all fancy. The tray had fruit, cookies, cream tarts, chicken salad sandwiches, cucumber mint sandwiches, and various other little sandwiches. Everything looks so small, but it was more than enough to fill me up! Matt, however, left hungry so at least we know for next time he’ll have to eat first if this is lunchtime.

It was a little pricey ($20 per person for what we ordered) so we’re not likely to come back for the afternoon tea service, but we’re definitely going to come back and try some of the other teas and items on their menu. I believe I saw something about a cheese platter and I sure am interested in that. The hefty tea service price is likely because you’re paying for the service and experience, not quite the amount of food. They did offer us refills, though, but we were on our way to something else. Perhaps we’ll take more time and get refills of our tea next time!

Oooooooh! I’ve always wanted to try afternoon teas! $20 is not that bad. I’ve seen higher prices in Seoul! Everything looks so good, though 😀

I’ve discovered a tea place here (it’s a small chain of six branches all over Seoul) called Chloris, and I was just so tickled that they use real China tea cups and teapots for your tea. Love it. I’ll have to go back one day to try their afternoon tea set!

You have no idea how excited I am about legit tea set items, LOL. The server brought out our tea sets and my first reaction was, “OMG REAL CUPS AND PLATES?!”

Hurray for finding an awesome tea place! I’m still trying to find my fave tea spot, or tea in general. I love the arrangement of the table! It looks so welcoming and makes you appreciate your surroundings. The sandwich setup looks delicious! The place sounds a bit pricey but for the outcome, I’m sure it’s worth it ^___^! Enjoy~

The Long Island Strawberry sounds really interesting. I’m generally only a green tea drinker so it sounds like a good choice 🙂

The afternoon tea assortment looks delicious! I don’t know how Matt left hungry, there seems to be a lot there!

That looks like a lovely place! I think that’s nice that they set up the table for you, and the cups and dishes are so cute. The food looks good too. I think that would be enough to fill me up!

I’m glad you finally got to try the place! Better late than never, right? 🙂

That is such a cute little place! When I lived in Germany, used to love heading to this small cafe for some coffee or tea with some sweets! Thanks for reminding how great it is to just take some time out of your busy schedule to just relax, enjoy a cup of tea, and great company 🙂

I’ve never tried afternoon tea. I’m super picky with sandwiches so I’m afraid it’d be a waste on me but I love the ones that offer cupcakes and macaroons. -heaven-
